The Day After

I spent today floating on a cloud. I took off work and went visiting with the people I love. I got up very early and posted some pictures here for Amy. Julie called me early so she was the first non-family to hear the news. Then I went to see Kathryn at school. I sat in her classroom and told her the story while the 4th graders stayed off task.

I went to see Kimley in the hospital and talked to George on the phone from there. (He somehow talked me into singing this week despite my protests.) Then I headed North. I went to Mom's office and shared the joy with everyone there. Then Mary called and said Emma wanted lunch with Grandma, so we had a girly lunch at the Durning House. We ventured back to the house for more girl time and then Emma informed Grandma that she needed to get back to work.

I left Van Alstyne for Mary's and spent the afternoon enjoying my nieces and being a hand model. If you get a professional photographer for free "My arm doesn't bend that way!" doesn't really carry much weight. However, I love the results!

Afterwards, I picked Bruce up on my way back South and we went to church together. The word had already spread among our circle of friends, so they were anxious to see the ring and hear the story. The minister caught wind of it and announced it to our class of 120. It was interesting to be the center of attention all night. Not usually my favorite place, but I'm starting to enjoy it. Praise Team practice brought more congratulations and then we went home for a couple of hours of Olympics before he went home.

It was a perfect day and my second favorite of my life so far. I'm starting to realize just how many people care about me. I am so very, very blessed.
